Seafood Dinner - Saturday 17th November This Saturday evening after tennis sees a real treat for seafood lovers when the Social Committee puts together an oceanic delight at Steve and Julie Jones William Orr Hostel gardens. Come and enjoy (amongst other things) some beautiful Barrier Reef Spanish Mackerel, fresh Calamari and prawns. Cost will be moderate (less than $10 per head). Be at training on Thursday night for full details. ******* Thank you to the Social Committee for putting on Saturday (3rd November) night's BBQ. The good food and convivial atmosphere was made even more pleasant by the heavy rain that drenched the courts and surrounds as we revelled in the recount of the day's play. ******* Our Social Club Committee, consisting of Julie Jones, Kaye Murdoch, Bev Myers and Vikki Tennant, would like to welcome you all to the 2007/08 Tennis Season!! The girls are going to do their best to make the social scene off the court just as much fun as proceedings on the court, so keep your eye on this page and make the effort to support the activities that our hard working social committee organises. ******* Kicking off proceedings, a BBQ was held on Saturday 13th October at the Clubhouse. A very pleasant night indeed with a good roll-up of members. Well done Social Committee for supplying a lovely array of gourmet meats and salads and thanks also to Broph for donning the apron and cooking the food to perfection. Great also to see Ronda and Deano there. Deano was clearly delighted with the hospitality and made a request for his favourite beverage to be stocked, so there'll be no turning him away now! The only low light of the evening was the nonsense thrown around by Stevie Boy, Bretty and Julie about the pathetic goings on at Optus Oval. Some fine quality red wine was reduced to a mere cask quality when poured into that silly Carlton mug. Looks like a long and painful summer ahead for the cultured non-Carlton supporters at the OSTC!
