Round 6 Match Reviews

A fantastic result by our B1 kids saw them collect their first points for the season, against Shepp Lawn White. The doubles sets were fairly even with the girls winning both their sets and the boys coming second in each of theirs. It was the singles that enabled us to grab a break on the opposition. Jacqui Meharry played very well to win 6/2, Alison Reed led 4/0 before being edged out in a tie-break, Jake Ford outlasted Maurie Yze 6/4 in a marathon set and fill-in Jack Tennant held sway 6/1 against Ben Bingham. Ten games up going into the mixed was a comfortable lead but, not resting on our laurels, we stretched that to 15 games with two mixed victories. Well done everyone.

Round 5 Match Reviews

Congratulations to F Grade on scoring its 1st win for the season on Saturday. A tidy 14 game victory over KP Blue. A great effort by the team and none more so than Jack Brophy and Kaley Densworth on sealing the match with a fantastic 6/0 mixed win.

D Grade suffered its first loss for the season in Round 5 results on Saturday. There wasn't much in it, however, as we went down by only 16 games to Shepp North. Macen Johnson had a great day, winning all three sets (with Travis Mansell twice - 6/3 & 6/4 - and then with the rapidly improving Dalaney Myers, 6/2). Dalaney matched Macen's efforts, winning both doubles sets with Laura Freeman 6/5. Auri, Hasim, Kelsey and Sarah all tried hard as well and played some very encouraging tennis. Also at home, our E Grade found things tough against St Mary's. Josh McCarthy combined well with Thomas Pogue for a fantastic 6/0 win and then with Maddison Refat to score 6/2. Well done kids.
